What to Wear During A Fall Photo Shoot

Fall is by far my clients most loved season.  By mid August, I have nearly every weekend of September and October booked and by mid September, I even start booking sessions during the week (which I rarely ever do).  That being said, I though it might be a super fun opportunity to write a post about Fall fashion and what looks awesome in photos!  It just so happens to be that this past Wednesday was the first day of Fall.  HOORAY!

I went ahead and put together some super trendy pieces, along with some staples, that would look great during your Fall session.  Gotta love Pinterest!

Here’s some tips on how to get that perfect look in photos:

Be fearless.  Don’t be afraid to mix and match prints and colors.  For example, if you’re having a Fall family session, don’t feel the need to ALL be wearing the same colors or matching outfits.  Pick a color scheme and work it in.  Just because you’re little girl is wearing maroon tights doesn’t mean you have to wear maroon tights, as well.

Layer up.  Layering allows you to combine textures, prints and color.  It’s a fun way to really show off your personality with your clothes, as well as, make for some really visually interesting and trendy looking photos!

Accessorize.  This goes hand in hand with layering up.  Whether it be a statement necklace, a scarf, or maybe even a hat; using accessories to add color, texture and interest to your outfit really can spice up your look.  My favorite accessory to wear during a photo shoot is a colorful statement necklace!

Express yourself.  Using your clothes is the perfect way to express you personality in your portraits.  Are you a rocker chick?  A tomboy?  Spunky?  Hipster?  Chic?  Or have a totally unique style?  Show it off, girl!  Let the inside you shine through!
